Hi, Office Insiders! My name is Mohit Anand, and I’m a Principal Product Manager on the Microsoft Designer team. I’m excited to share that an early preview of Microsoft Designer – a new graphic design app in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem – is available to try! 

Microsoft Designer – Create stunning designs in a flash 

Today at Ignite and Devices Day, we introduced Microsoft Designer, the new graphic design app that helps you create stunning social media posts, invitations, digital postcards, graphics, and more, all in a flash. Designer starts with your content (text, images, or idea) and offers you 1-click design suggestions, powered by the latest advances in machine learning and artificial intelligence.

We are opening the waitlist today so sign up using your email address and join the Designer Preview. We will reach out to you in the coming weeks and provide you early access to Designer so pretty soon, you can start designing and share your feedback.

How it works  

  1. Visit Microsoft Designer where you will learn more about the product and how it can help you create stunning designs in a flash. 
  2.  Join the waitlist by providing your email address and answering a couple of questions.
  3. As we open access, you will receive an email with a personalized link that will enable you to be one of the first people to try Designer. 
  4. Click that link to access Designer and start designing!  

Scenarios to try  

Here are a few things that you could to try in Designer: 

  • Start with your idea (for example “Vacation update”) and we will create unique designs based on your idea, that you could can then customize  according based on to your preferences. 
  • You could add your own images by uploading it them to the design and make them professional looking by applying some cool filters, removing background, adjusting properties and cropping it.  
  • Download your created design to your laptop or send it to your mobile device using a QR code.  
  • Post your created design to social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn, directly from Designer. 

Known Limitations 

  • Designer is currently only available in English.  
  • You need to sign up/sign in with Microsoft email account (,, and more). Work and other accounts are not supported currently. 
  • Designer is only available on Windows and Mac right now.
